ECOTEK VALVE
« on: 27 February 2009, 01:31 »
are they any good? is it true what they say about them? "It works by creating turbulence in the inlet manifold thus improving the combustion process; this means that it reduces emissions, improves fuel consumption and maximises engine performance"

eres a link to them: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=3391&xSec=129

Had one on a mk4 Fiesta. Didn't do much for fuel or performance...it makes a hissing noise though not cool....

Reduces emissions -----On the manual it says to close the valve due to MOT emissions!

Also you need to connect it to the pipe that provides the vacuume to the break servo. Not what I would call safe.

I had one on my 16v when I bought but the noise drove me mad - it sounds like a broken turbo.

You want swirl, not turbulence.

I got 500 bhp and 6 billion mpg after fitting one. Well, I'll be honest, it wasn't just that, I also had an electric supercharger, performance spoiler, performance air filter and performance gear knob fitted.
