ED30 Build Plaque Position
« on: 25 February 2009, 22:11 »
Searching it look like these go on the drivers door, is this correct?

Not seen mine yet as it has just arrived at home so there may be fitting info.

Surely the centre console looks best.

Comments please chaps

Yeh I think Ive read on here before that it goes on the drivers door, so you see it when you open the door...
Im sure I saw a pic of one on here somewhere - if I come across it I'll past the link here...

Then again, its your car - so put it wherever you like it best!

there's a picture half way down the first page on this thread http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=98162.0

Although I'm fairly sure it comes with instructions.

I think it looks fine there, rather being hidden behind the door.
What did you stick it on with and will you be able to easily and cleanly remove it?

the sticky pad on the plaque is pretty pants but it has worked.
I thought about using 1mm number plate pads, but its fine at the mo.

Any luck mate on the hunt?

When I was in the dealers last week, they, as well as something I had read is the press, confirmed that used car prices are on the rise very slightly, due to the lack on new motors hitting the market, hence a knock on.

Not sure about that one, but guess it makes sence.

Hi, how would I go about sourcing one of these plaques for my edition 30?

If your car was a UK-spec (ie destined for the uk and not an import), then ring up VW and make sure you're on their database (get your dealer to update details otherwise) and then ask them about the plaque. They're dishing them out in random batches so no idea when (if at all) any of us get ours.
