Noisey Roof on mk1 Cabriolet

Hi,

As I get to about 100mph (with the roof up) I get a lot of very noisey wind resistance from the join above the windscreen, does anyboby else have this problem, and is there a way to cure it?

it's a cab, so you are going to get loads of noise at any high speed, I find turning the radio up helps

Try that speed with the roof down, it's great   Or so I'm told  

I think you will find that if you went in a top of the range BMW/Merc convertible you would get a similar noise at that speed, it's one of the things you just got to accept if you want a cab.

When i fitted my new roof i made sure the front bit was very snug... this lessened the sound a little....

However you're gonna get this in any convertible...

Like Adam said... Turn the Radio up. My car had loads of rattles and creaks until i turned the stereo up.

you could adjust the clamps on both sides to clamp it down a bit.
but dont over do it as it then wont unclamp as i found out.

I have, It is, the only problem was, it was bringing the car home after I  bought it in Jan, got to 110, nearly froze to death

A question, you and the rest of us would like to know the answer to!! If you find one, tell me!! I doubt you'll find a quality one for less then ?350, you'll maybe get a Stayfast for about that price.

Stayfast is ok, but if I were to put a Mohair on my cab I would go for a good quality one (personal opinion) - remember to add VAT and P&P to those prices though.
