Work in Nettos? You've gotta be sh!tting me! You should be an engineer or a fabricator!

This project is just brilliant! I keep going back to it coz if there's a problem you just make something else!!!
cheers nice idea , but like i said its a homemade idea , lke most just go out and buy custom parts , .i.e exhuast manifolds /short runner and custom parts , i make my own and keeps the costs to a minium ,,be nice to have a workshop to do them in ,, thow lol

bit of gernal stripping checking this after to make sure the engine is in decent ,  i was actury suprized when i removed the sump , very clean in there,

checked all the shells mains and oil pump

next rocker and clyinder head removed

checked the bores and there no lips at all  nice clean smooth bores is always a good sign

also decieded i thought id treat myself to a new steel single mass flywheel to do away with all that dual mass crap

just finshing off the homemade headspacer , saves removing other too

had a spare hour to day so thought id prep the head for the low compression spacer and gasket instail first
split the new gasket as i dont need the middle shim

tin of copper sealer

then use copper head sealer on the block

fit the botom layer

then compression spacer

then top part of gasket

then fit the head and torque the head in the correct order

then get some bars to make sure the varible cam pulleys are tight lol and double checking the timing as well

one engine ready for boost ,,

This is an amazing project well impressed just read 1-27!

Great fabricating skillz!! Reinforced my opinion of do it yourself.

I also like how you've kept the caddy practical by retaining the towbar

Will continue to watch with interest and hope your new engine holds up to the abuse...

It's not much consolation but at least you know what caused it to go pop so can be avoided in future.

I'm loving the metal based lunacy....
