I was very surprised i stayed with that cooper S. I was expecting it to fly away, but the look on the dudes face, the way he was driving, and the speed we where doing all added up that the guy must of been giving it all...To be honest, i wasnt expecting my 8v to keep up, not even close, but it did...im not saying 8v are super fast, im just saying what happened to me.

Dude, i work for Bmw, and so have driven many mini cooper s's, if you kept up with one in an 8valve mk3 gti........ the guy in the mini wasn't trying

as i said. im reporting what happened to me. They guy was the typical fella that floors it on the dual carriageway (just like i do)

I raced a few Coopers in my MK2 16v (149BHP) it was very close
but i found i had the edge a couple of  times, Croydon fly over was a good spot for Hair dresser bashing.
Wouldnt try it in my 8v though, the standard cooper though is easy meat keep an eye out for the bonnet scoop (Lack of) before planting it!
MK3s look better than all the others and id rather have a golf full stop and ive had a few cars
