Ok, so I've never changed a fuel filter before.  Won't the fuel go everywhere?

you mite get a bit spill out not to much to worry about just bear in mind that the filter will be full of fuel and you will have to poor it out some where try to keep it as it is on the car dont pull it down and empty it on your face .you have to depressure the fuel lines first remove the fuel pump fuse(end of dash drivers side)  and start the car it will run for a few seconds then die then your good to go

So I remove the fuse, run it until it cuts out, then replace the fuel filter?  I take it it starts again afterwards? :P

yeah sure it will after replacing the fuse just make sure the filter goes on the right way theres an arrow pointing to the front of the car ... thats the way the fuel will be going  its not hard i got a very big tie wrap form motor factors to hold the filter in place chances are its been replaced before and the propper  strap has long gone

it may also cut out a few times at first until it gets the filter full (mostly primed by the pump prior to starting) but can sometimes take a couple of mins

Indeed, bit worried about getting the fuel into the engine again, can't do it any good struggling to get started...  I guess it's normal though.
