Are these modifications Chav or not, guys?
« on: 23 February 2009, 04:03 »
hi again,

just wondering what my next thing to do on the car should be, here are some ideas but if they are considered to be chavvy then i will not even consider them, once again your opinions are greatly valued

please rate the following as "chav" or "nice" please he he

1) LED side lights (white) i've ordered them and just read in another thread that they wont work unless i bypass the faulty bulb sensor with a resister which im not sure i can do even following a guide

2) LED blue lights for footwells (not ordered as this seems a bit chavvy but i dunno)

3) richbrooooook tax disc holder (my plastic 1 is peeling a bit)

c4

Stick with some white look normal sidelights - look better than the yellow and no need for any resisters.

Blue footwell - really upto you, a slight blue I think would look ok but an obvious neon blue probably not - ETTO

Nothing wrong with a better tax disc holder

Rock it how you want it man, each to their own and all that
Instead of blue LEDs for the footwells you could get some of the xenon-style bulbs that I used in the how-to thread. They look fantastic and give off a clear white light with a slight blue tinge, much like the headlights. Opinion from the people I have showed in real life is that they look stylish without looking chavvy.

They all seem like good sensible mods to me.
Plastic disc holders advertising Hafords or a garage are naff, much better with a nice one.
Blue interior lights would compliment the unique Mk5 blue dash lights.
LED side indicators would be a cheap and easy mod, adding a bit of individuality without spoiling the car.

I've got one of those alloy tax disc holders (the one with the small allen screws ) BUT is it just me or are they a right pain in the arse when it comes to changing the tax disc ?.Takes me ages to try & get the disc central & get the back on & get the screws in, any tips please ? :nerd:.

hey gene, sorry i think the only way to change it is by using the tiny allen key and unscrewing it one by one, the one i've ordered was the new type richbrook which looks the same but the rear twists off,
