Were all mk2 clocks cable driven? when i got my car it was fitted with mk3 clocks, so it didn't have the cable.

as far as im aware yes, cable driven with 2 different styles of connectors for the electricals, (pre 89) i think the drivers had a clock instead of a rev counter,

if you had mk3 clocks in ur mk2? did u have a 16v? or vr6 conversion? seems odd

no it's just a 8v digi. I'll have to take the dash out and see if i can see the cable. Could they of changed the cable so it reads as electrical instead?

u got a pic?

most vr6 conversions as far as im aware, (mk2 vr6) modify/splice the loom to accomodate the mk3 cluster, do the clocks work?, they really dont look right sitting behind a mk2 dash IMO,

i don't know if they work, the car wasn't running when i got it. The mfa and oil etc work on the dials. I know that's why i'm fitting mk2's back in :)

mk2 clocks are all cable driven, mk3 clokcs use a speedo sensor that drops right into the speedo hole. chances are you dont have a speedo cable, as the MK3 sensor goes in the same hole.
edit: actually i think the digifiz clocks have a speedo sensor?
