UK vs Euro
« on: 18 February 2009, 14:39 »
Am i the only one who's getting sick of color coded split rims and perfect finnishes? I've nearly finished what was suposed to be a euro jetta and at the last minute i went 90's uk styleeeee with it and i must say it looks pretty "phat"

Can anyone else see the old skool 90's uk look coming back? I remember the days of 17's and sunstrips that covered half the window, loudest exhausts known to man and when people actually drove their cars in the wet!

or

id also like to add if we keep smoothing bays and removing stuff then all the dubs left will be resigned to the garage instead of the road!

what do u think?

my car is to drive not to show. Im more of the 90s look as you said than the smoothed bays and glossy paint. At the end of the day you wouldnt wana take out for a midnight blast a smoothed out golf with an impecable chrome engine and expensive paintjob, i rather take out a golf with polybushed suspension decent engine and so old tyres

Yer, it might be different if I had put the work into it myself :lipsrsealed: and I can't find a second car I like yet!

Edition38 would have seen so much flame it would be unbelievable

I see what you mean. My engine is nothing special and as long as you look after the paint and service it properly then there is no reason it wont carry on going and looking good!

Personally I don't see the point of chrome engines. I like the smoothed bay look but its a bit pointless as it would just get oily and messed up straight away. Rather have a 20vt (cant go wrong with looks then, its all plastic) than a chrome 16v or something!

Twisty A roads FTW! to me a VW has always been a trusty old (slightly knackered) labradoor, not a crufts winning poodle, i just wanna see more on the road! gotta get some pics up of my jetta, tornado red mk2 on 17'' gunmetal 5 spokes and by 2morrow a proper 90's sunstrip!

ive heard its nearly imposible to drive a smooth engine bay car as the filer will crack!
