If you want quality discs and pads, but a low price, this eBay seller is perfect, they sell Mintex.  I've used them, and can't complain :)

312's do stop you better than the 288's, no doubt, but they just upset the balance of the car under HARD braking with 232's at the rear, IMO.  (Nothing dangerous or anything you can't live with everyday, just too much of a difference between the two when driving on the edge, for my liking).

Ive got the 312mm conversion, its loads better! Cant say ive noticed anything about it affecting the balance under hard breaking, surely this could be said about any car with upgraded front brakes?

Gonna go for 312mm discs and carriers cant see much point in just putting standard size brakes on may aswell go bigger with decent pads as Ivor said.  :cool:

Golf SOLD. Replaced with a Yamaha Raptor 660 quad and loving it. This will be replaced in August with a Raptor 700. Sold the quad now got a Vectra GSI 2.5 V6 and its the nuts.

What the carriers mate? Theres a bloke on the MK4 forum that sells alot of brakes might see what his got when im ready.  :cool:

I got mine from the local  scrap yard. £23 for both front carriers from a TT  :laugh:
