imo, you pass your test without them, why get them afterwards, just seems lazy to me.
If you had a massive car then I would consider it, but a Golf isnt exactly a big car, and its not hard to judge where the bumper is.
Spend the money on some nice detailing instead.

Parking sensors pick up potentially damaging obstacles such as posts and kerbs - Things which are out of sight in a Mk5 Golf.

It's a no-brainer imo. It makes parking in tight spaces much easier.

So if your favourite car of all time was offered for sale to you at a price it would be rude to say no to, you would never buy it if it had parking sensors? :shocked:

You dont need them but when you have them they prove useful - are you sure it isn't that you just wish you had them  :wink:

Go for the sensors, I had them on my last car and now miss them so much on ma poverty spec gti, if they save a kerbed monza or bashed bumper its gotta be a no brainer.

........& while we are on the subject.....I think the rear wiper really spoils the lines of the car.....going to take mine off when I pick the car up on Monday :grin:

Really useful in my opinion.  Mine are colour coded so not really noticeable.  Makes parking so much easier

Ok while we are on this topic, can a kind person post up a picture of a vw dealer retro-fit of the parking sensors, cos my understanding is that they look slightly different to a factory fit.

If they are different, if I was able to source a bumper that had the sensors fitted at time of build, and then bought the "factory fit" sensors. Then got the rest of the retro-fit kit to actually get me a retro fit rear parking sensors BUT with the factory oem look?? then can anybody think of a reason why I couldnt do this??
