I am totally satisfied with my Mk5 GTI.
« on: 12 February 2009, 09:19 »
After mulling over other cars I realise that I'm really happy with my GTI.  It does everything right (even the steering is not too bad).
My modifications were a bluefin at 160 miles and brighter lightbulbs at 300 miles.  These both made a good car better.
I'm also very pleased with the bright red colour, especially in these glum times.

Everything considered it's the best car I have ever owned, and one of the cheapest.

Is anyone else totally pleased with their Mk5 GTI?

I love my GTI.  It's fun, practical, costs are low, looks great, handles great and I can't praise it enough!

After I've given her a good clean is when I feel most pleased with it

The GTi is my 31st car in 21yrs of driving!!!

Previously to this, I had a BMW 120D M sport. I only kept it 3 mths!! Within a week of buying it, I knew there was something about the car I did not like.

Anyway, when I saw my GTi 4 sale, I was offered a great deal, so jumped into my first VW.

Its early days, 3 weeks in, but I have to say, I LOVE THIS CAR!!! For the first time in 31 cars, I have had no doubts whatsoever that its the car for me. Normally, after a week or so, the novelty wears off and I start to doubt my purchase. Not this time, I love the GTi and think I will keep it for at least 2 years.

I need to tighten up the suspension and sort out a remap, also need new wheels (cos two are fooked) and get a good detailing job done. Pretty much sorted....I think....like the way its Fast fun and practical at the same time...never had a car that can be so adaptable....and with the resale values in the toillette think its time to keep her, treat her and love her some more

That said...dont tell her but I have always had a fascination with a 911....you just cant help your feelings eh...and theres no point in staying together just for the sake of the kids  :smug:

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)
