Where is d.v located on 2006 gti

hi all where is the d.v located on a 2006 gti and is it easy to change etc as have heard they can go at any time as diaphram is plastic or something, so i may change mine soon before this happens on me plust the fact that its recomended if your thinking of a re-map aparantly, which sort of d.v should i be looking for ie makes etc i want one that is silent like the original as am not really into the 80s rs turbo image lol cheers again, MATT

It's located directly next to the turbo, which is why the diaphragm in the DV tends to fail. The ED30 had the DV relocated remotely to the front of the car and is relatively easy to change, but the GTI DV is located awkwardly and really needs either a pit for access or a proper car lift......unless you have very small hands!!

The DV is awkward to get to.  I suggest you leave it to a mechanic with a ramp. The part number you need is 06f 145 710 g.  You can order this at any VW garage for about £30.  The important partof that PN is the letter G at the end.  If you car already has this version then you should be fine.  Mine had the B version and it ripped.

hi so is that part no and price for a actual dv or a service pack or something soz to sound a little thick just not to well up on all this dv stuff, what year is your car as mine is 06 and wandering whether its worth researching if the part no chenged on certain year etc is that a gen oem part or forge etc thanks again

£30 is the cost of the part. The part number is the VW OEM part you need with the latest revision to it and will still fit. It doesn't matter what year your GTI is as all revisions will fit.

The part numbers for the OEM DV started at A and went through to G for the MKV.
