What servicing regime GTi's set to (especially ed 30's) before leaving the factory? Longlife or T/D?

Many thanks in advance

It doesn't get set at the factory. Your dealer should have which schedule it's on logged in their database.

TT suggests that the gtis should be put on time and distance servicing.

Oh OK so there's no hard and fast rule, it's down to each individual dealer/owner as to whether they decide to set the car to time and distance or longlife from new?

Well from what I understand, all the engines are filled with LL oil at the factory anyway, then the dealer asks/decides for the first purchaser which regime it goes on before it is handed over.

edit: and as said above, any turbo petrol engine should really be on a T/D regime.

Is it just VW that introdued this longlife regime or do other manufacturers use this idea aswell??
Personaly I prefer to service it every year /time and distance.

I requested mine to be on T & D but it came on longlife   There's a code on the sticker in your service book/boot that tells you whether it came on longlife or T& D from the factory.  I've posted it up on here before, I'll do a search and report back in a few mins.

Found it...

If your options sticker (in the boot or service book) has the code "QG1" then it came with longlife from the factory.  If it says "QG0" or "QG2" then it is set on Time & Distance.
