I looked at this a while back and your basically looking at £100+ for top of range leads like Magnecor (16v leads are twice the price of 8v equivalents). Mine are cheap £30 BBT leads from Euro Car Parts which are fine, but the first set were faulty, which lead to a load of problems.

If it was me, I would go with Beru (although not through VWSpares - he once unfairly refused me a refund on a faulty part the chunt), but if it was for a Mk2 I really liked and was going to keep long-term, e.g. an ABF'd conversion, I'd go with Magnecors for the shizzle.
