Apart from the obvious what is the difference between shifting in Tiptronic and D mode?
I am pretty new to the system myself (only 1 day so far), only difference I can see is in M mode you can sometimes be asking it for a gear that it has not got ready yet resulting in a slight delay to the change. Maybe it is just that you are feeling or are you saying this is a recent thing?

Billy, get the DSG oil change!!!
It needs to be done every 40k miles. i just had it done recently and i thought it made a big difference. The gearbox felt smoother and quicker.
