Back to the original question, it all depend whatyou want it for.
I like original, unmoddified cars personally.
I had a 89 small bumper 8V until recentley. I loved that. I didn't drive it very far or very fast, but being used to driving diesels as daily cars it's low down torque and no need to go beyond 3500 rpm suited me.
I've just bought a 1990 big bumper 16V but hav'nt driven it much yet. I prefer the look of the newer car (big bumpers on early cars is just wrong tho) I'll just have to get used to a different style of driving. Power steering is nice. Just enough assistance to help you out parking, but plenty of feedback on the move.
