Have done a fair few bits and bobs to the car over the last couple of weeks so going to be updating this over the next couple of days!

My new front brakes are on, i fitted them myself and bled them with the EZbleed system from halfords and i have to say it has done a rubbish job! Pedal is spongy and horrible!  I am still waiting on my new rear brakes to come so i can fit them and then take the car to somewhere local and get them all bled properly!

The front brakes are Standard Mk4 R32 Calipers that have been fully Refurbished and rebuilt with new parts and finished in powdercoated Red.  I am using standard Genuine VW pads.  The lines i am using are 200 Spec Goodridge Braided Hoses.  I have also had a Tyrolsport caliper stiffening kit fitted to the calipers (http://www.tyrolsport.com/index.php?p=product&id=125&parent=64).

The discs are two piece ECS Tuning Discs that have been stripped down, the small bolts have been nickel plated and the edge of the discs have been painted black so they are easier to clean and wont rust up.

Here's a pic without the wheel on.  Will get a picture with the wheel on when the car is cleaner!

Just took a quick picture with the brakes behind a nice dirty wheel!

I also got some Bora Sport clocks fitted a couple of weeks ago.  They have lit needles and miles to empty enabled.

Also i fitted OEM cruise control.

And am at the moment in the process of re doing my dash with Fablon.

Am going to R-tech on friday to get my map upgraded to stage 2 and also take into account a few new mods so cant wait for that!

Also have sitting here waiting to be fitted a set of 034 Motorsports Track density motor mounts so they will be shaking my teeth out when i fit them!  They are roughly 90% stiffer than stock lol

Havent fitted the engine mounts yet, So nothing to report on that!

Have now been running with my new map for a while and the car does feel a hell of a lot stronger so thats all good!

The other night i was out for a spirited drive and completely cooked my clutch at a set of traffic lights (AlanD style at Santa Pod! last year lol)  So speant the last week or so trying to source all the parts i needed to replace the clutch and flywheel.  I can easily get hold of all the usual pieces people use for very cheap but i wanted a lightened flywheel as opposed to a standard G60 flywheel.  So after weighing up all my options i had to go for the ECS stage 1 clutch kit from Awesome as if i had bought just the Flywheel direct from the US i would have had to pay silly money on the import duties and UPS fee's.  So it was a bit more than i wanted to spend on the Kit but hopefully the way the flywheel feels should put a smile back on my face!  I am having the kit fitted by a local gearbox specialist that i got pally with a few years ago when i had my first car, after countless visits to him  :lipsrsealed:

Also this week i recieved my long awaited rear brake upgrade, so i fitted them the day after. I am taking the car to Ad Autotechnik tommorow to get them all bled after hearing how good they are from Barry.

The Brakes are R32 Rear Calipers that have been fully stripped down, re built and then powder coated red.  The discs are 284mm MG disks that have been drilled and modified to fit.  Also i have had them drilled and grooved in the same way to match my ECS fronts, along with the outsides and middle of the disc painted black again to match my fronts.  Am using a set of DaveB spacers on the caliper carriers to allow for the massive discs.  Also using a nice new set of EBC redstuff pads.

Heres a few pics from when i was fitting them!

Well i havent had a chance to get the brakes done because when i connected the lines up to them the night i was planning on taking the car to get them bled one of the calipers had a problem with a seal so i had to remove it and send it back, hopefully it should all be sorted prety soon!

Obviously because of this problem i wasnt able to take the car to get the clutch fitted either so had to cancel that

Now the car is just sitting on the drive with its back wheels off on axel stands!  And im afraid thats how its going to stay untill the brakes are sorted because i cant be bothered putting all the standard rears back on!

So hopefully it will all be sorted and have the new clutch in by the R-Tech Rolling road day otherwise il be coming in someone elses car!

While the car is not moving it will give me an excuse to spend a bit of time on the interior and engine bay that i have been wanting to do for a while!

First thing will be to fit a brand new Rocker cover that i have had powder coated bright red and to give the bay a general clean up!

After this i am going to be spraying all of my interior trim and also taking out the rear seats and spare wheel for good.

Here's a pic of my lovely new rocker cover! Was a bargain £38 off ebay and cost me £35 to get poder coated.  Sorry about the crappy quality of the pics have just taken them on my camera phone.

Quick update!

Car is still on axel stands on the drive so clutch hasnt yet been fitted or brakes finished / bled yet :cry:Just waiting on recieving my previously dodgey caliper back then i can sort it all!

On the up side i have just bought a set of bucket seats that are sitting here waiting to be fitted, have ordered the sub frames and harnesses from demon tweeks so should hopefully see them put in before the R-Tech rolling road day in January

Also bought a R8 Oil cap to go on when i change the rocker cover! (hopefully tommorow if i can bring myself to scrape the snow off the bonnet)

Well after going round Tim's yesterday and giving him a hand i thought i would get my ass in gear and actually do something to my car as i havent even touched it since it went up on axel stands waiting for the rear caliper to come back to me!  I put on my nice new rocker cover! And also in the pics below you can see my catch can install

Also: The caliper should be back with me on Tuesday fingers crossed so i can fit it, get the brakes bled and get the clutch fitted all before the R-Tech rolling road day.  My harnesses have come from Demon Tweeks but am still waiting on the Cobra Subframes as they were shut all over Christmas so fingers crossed i will have fitted them by next weekend aswel.

Sorry for the crappy quality pics only had my phone outside.
