help where to get a mk2 16v starter motor from?

hi im trying to find a starter motor for my mk2 gti 16v its 1991 h plate had a look on gsf and can only find one upto 1990 can anyone help prehaps i just missed it but couldnt find one on there or anyone know where else to get one from?

That one should fit ok. Also try the Toledo, although the electrical connections may be different and require modification. And the vehicle breakers. Sure to be lots floating around. :smiley:

8 valve starter works
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

mk3 2.0 8v works fine i have one on my 1991 16v

if fact  any starter from engine with 020 gear box will work
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Manchester Auto Electrical - they will deliver and I got mine from them for £40, I just swapped in my old one for a refurbed one.

New one is immense, combined with a Bosch silver, its quality, starts almost instantly!
