Today i took my centre console apart and there is a small box looks like a small ecu or big relay for something, its stamped VW Audi groups and its VDO with the number 244 on it any ideas what its for?

Cant at the min matey cos my bro has my car currently but i can try to explain:

If you take the gear stick surround out and pull it towards you inbetween the electric window switches there is a kind of "shelf" it should be located in there but its not fixed so should pull straight out
