Your G60 engine fits into those cats for one the G60 engine is now limited numbers plus its got the same racing heritage in VW motorsport.
Secondly how many cars you know back then ran a supercharged block?
Lancia intergrale fits into the same cats!
Don't argue with me, your car is special and a classic fella! Its not all about criterias some times its the drive and the smile it brings to your face, in my book thats a classic!!!

You may have a point there which I am gratefull for, but I will have to reserve on its classic status. Its just that too many people buy some old Ford Cortina or Rover 2000TC and say that they have a classic car! I have even seen a Lada Riva advertised in a classic car magazine, and Marina's seem to be finding their way in there too. I mean, come on! These are mass produced, poor quality under acheivers that were a bad car in their day. So what makes them so special now? I suppose the fact that they have actually survived may have something to do with it.

Yup, out of the many they are the few.  Despite their being poorly built, or not particularly advanced, the preservation of their ilk is not without merit.  Aside from everything it reminds us of just how rubbish cars were.

i thought road tax was free after 25 years.....or have the greedy bastards changed that to just so we can pay them £200 to get light bulbs for there second homes...

yup and its a pain...it really should be that these cars have already paid their duty...especially as they are over 20years in most cases...

Just wanna add a G60 is def a classic, as these were the limited runs off the golf, and therefore up with the Rallye and imo a touch nicer to look at unless a rallye is really well kept.  Lucky boy to have one

Not bleating DH just pointing out that these cars have paid their duty and should be entitled to exemption...or if we do pay the taxes then better quality roads seems not just Manchester is sh!te
