Vr6 bargain?

there is a vr6 for sale near me for 1k,

black L reg 100k on the clock

its tatty and need some "minor" work to it

im thinking about buying it
cos its so cheap

not for me to drive but for the engine etc etc etc,

how much do you all think a good vr6 engine on its own is worth?
would the car be worth buying?

If all you want is the engine ?1k is too much for one with 100k.  If you plan to use more bits from it or can sell other parts or you want to use the car for a bit then make sure it has a seriously good service history and try and knock them down as much as possible.

I think you could find a much lower mileage VR6 engine for half the price.

Unfortunately i can't really give you any helpful pointers as to where...
