New member with a question

Hey all, I own a mk3 golf and have been doing all the usual suspension parts like arms and axle bushes etc... Its now time to change the old lowering springs and shocks, anyone got any recommendations for a good kit? Not sure whether to go for coilovers or not, any great benefit to either?

I'd suggest coilovers, as a member of this forum you'll get the Hottuning Coilovers for £159. Bargain and they aren't bad (apparently lol) I've got some on the way, will have them on by next weekend.

Coilovers offer you greater flexibility in adjusting them unlike normal lowering springs.

tbh mate coilovers are really only anygood when you want a fully adjustable height -- ie your a mincer who wants to play underneath every weekend seeing how low you can go 

in my experience of coilovers id stay away from the budget ones as they are poop - a good set of shocks and springs with a minus 60mm height would give you really good handling and a sportier ride height.

if you want a decent ride and handling, with a fully adjustable height (ie a decent coilover) be prepared to spend over £500 quid.

with suspension you really do get what you pay for, have a read around see what others say and base an informed opinion on whatever you buy.

Welcome to the site matey, as for suspension defo coilovers  I went for the 'Gaz' coilovers and i would recommend every time.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I think I'm leaning towards the springs and shocks side, with the get what you pay for in mind I could probably get a really good set of springs and shocks for the same price of  an alright set of coilovers, I've got my golf lowered 40mm justnow and I think it would be too low at 60mm for day to day use

Susp. advice I would save up and buy a matched kit of shocks / springs, I ran a set of cheap coilovers for 6mths and I would not use them again, very harsh.
