Car went in for a service this morning. If they don't find anything wrong with it, I reckon I can afford to get that bad boy chipped/remapped - hopefully before Santa Pod.

Brake pads are worn out, and brake fluid wasn't changed last time when it was supposed to be. ...To be fair, the brakes were fading recently.
Got 'em to check cambelt + tensioner (for free)
Kniteriders stories scared me.

lol
I am quite cheap for pad and fluid changes.
I would charge 25 quid for brake fluid change, and 35 quid to change front brake pads.
Thats labour only of course, but pads and brake fluid shouldn't cost any more than about 25 quid.
If its cheaper than that then they are giving it away

My last service at VW a couple of months ago was discs and pads, front and rear, as well as a cambelt, and from what that cost I could take a good guess! That wasn't a chea day I can tell you!!!!

Unlucky mate, you will get that remap someday.
Doesnt anyone do D.I.Y no more
brake fluid and brake pads wouldnt take you no more than a couple of hours at the most, if you have done it before even less.
