Interesting find ....
« on: 17 January 2009, 15:18 »
Decided to get down and try to find where my water ingress is coming from today with the weather not being bad and all, and found an aerial taped up behind the parcel shelf ...

Now I wouldnt be too bothered but the car is a `91 16V and it has the bee sting aerial on top at the back.  Any idea where the lead from that should come through into the car (behind the dash at any particular point?)  and why on earth would that be there in the first place?

Found the water ingress too, looks like its getting in around the heater blower

time to do the following at night then

Torch in the engine bay and N/S/F wheel arch ( inner trim removed ) an see where the light shines in, as the aerial lead will come thru the bulkhaed or thru that arch where ya water leak is by ya heater motor

Any idea how the water managed to start leaking there? I ask because I have a leak somewhere around the heater blower in my car.

Probably related to what chuff just pointed out, there will be a hole for the aerial to come through from the wing which isnt blocked off (in my case) as the aerial was inside the car

If you have water in the insulation there, its the bonnet scuttle usually, leaks in through the blower vent.
