well i added a new toy to the car today

after waiting weeks for a boss kit to arrive it turned up on saturday so i fitted it this evening

wow it is small :) thought 280 wasnt that much of a differance but still it is cool :)

but on the way home the car decided to thank me for the new present and start stalling at every junction ???

looked and the little rubber seal under the flying saucer has split

well there hasn't been much action really just enjoying the car

but on monday the drivers window fell down (luckily not smashing) so i will be upgrading to elec windows after my trip to the uk at the end of april as i will visit dubbers sports in huddersfield as they list new mechs and motors :)

also i planned the suspension for this month but i race RC touring cars and have been invited to race in the euros so funds are low now as i have had to fund a new set of batterys and motors :( but hopefully i can do well here

and there is now a knocking noise on acceration or braking so another good look underneath is needed

well i returned to holland empty handed :(

we didn't get to dubbersports due to lack of time :(

but the knocking noise was so bad before i went away i went and ordered some ............. toys :)

i was unsure of what it was that was knocking so i just ordered every bush and fitting that the front suspension has :)

so heres the piccys and i will do a write up / fitting guide with pictures after the weekend

the rear are not coilovers but there is 5 rings where you can sit a clip for the spring cup at 20 40 60 80 and 100mm lower so i will try 60 to start with and see what it looks like :)

enjoy and wait for saturdays update :)

hello all

yesterday i fitted the rear upper suspension mounts after the others were totally pooped

lowered the rear by one level , the rear isn't a screw thread it has a circlip and little groove in the shock body

i lowered the front 2 turns but think it is a little too low or the rear needs a bit more

i have a customer with a golf GTi and he wants to go back to original so i am getting his cast off modified part free :)

there is a set of cross hairs and a single light grille coming as i have swapped him for a standard spare 4 light grille and my standard lights i saved when i fitted my crystal ones

and a digifiz set of clocks as soon as i rewire the stock clocks back in

but i got this genuine Bonrath single wiper arm kit but the wiper arm was busted so i'm jusing my original one till i find a new one for it

piccys of the wiper conversion not sure if i like the "straight up" position it is at now but it's 80's style

ok boys i have been away for a while but today my Digifiz fitted GTi came into work for a swap :)

i thought it would be an easy and straight forward swap  :smug: :smug:

NOT AT ALL !!!!!!

after removing the engine /fusebox wiring loom and the speed sensor but after that i saw the plugs for the dash were totally differant !!!!

so we swapped those over too and after a lot of swearing and struggling to find the plugs again it was in and working BUT no tacho !!

after a quick look around the other car i saw an extra wire from the ECU to a connector in the scuttle pannel so a bit of trickery and new wire in and fitted now i have a tacho

but now i dont have lighting on the dash and heater controls !! but thats a job for monday

heres some pictures of the finished item
