Rear aero wiper help please???

Just fitted my new rear wiper motor. All straight forward, works a dream

Came then to attatch rear aero wiper. Tightened nut, tried clipping on old nut cover from original wiper and it doesn't fit or anywhere near :embarassed:

Should new mk 5 arm have come with a smaller cap to cover nut? If so I didn't get one. Can it bought on its own, or does it only come with arm.

Thought that would've been the case Rhyso. Will have to check rubbish I threw, but pretty sure there wasn't one

wiper arm - 6Q6955707 C
wiper blade - 6Q6 955 425 A

No cap with them

ah just remembered that sometimes you have to shave about 1mm off the bottom of your old cap to enable it to fit without touching the glass

No the new cap that comes with the aero wiper is completely different fitting to the old original one- I know because I tried to modify the original, one as its slightly smaller-so would look better, with little success.  You definitely need the new wider cap to fit over the end of the wiper arm.

...and yes you still need to shave down 2-3mm from the new cap.  I got mine from VW speed btw, not sure if the kits are all the same though.

hmm i didn't though quite a few people did have to shave it down

I've not shaved any off my cap, however it dose sound like it scrapes the screen when its on.
