Entering the realm
« on: 14 January 2009, 19:31 »
Hello There

I want a mk4 gt turbo. Someone is coming over tomorrow to show me a Y reg one, 80,000ish miles, full service history, new timing belt and a years MOT plus some interesting gadget inside, price - £2800. As i am new to the VW church i was wondering if there is anything inparticular i should look for when looking around the beast, any re-ocurring problems with that model or general things that i may not be aware of.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated as i like everyone else want to get the right car at the right price.

cheers boys and girls

I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Always go to their house when viewing a car

What kind of fuel economy can expect from a standard 1.8 turbo, this might seem like a rediculous question when buying a turbo charged petrol but it would be nice to hear from someone impartial rather than the balls the guy trying to sell me the car might come up with

ICE, DVD player or sound system. really not interested in that sort of gubbins. Plus it makes me suspicious, can these cars come at 70000 miles and be freaked because they have be ragged?
