The secrect is simple. Use the top left screen clearing button, but turn off the ac :wink:

Job done. The first time you do this the ac will kick out some condensation of its own... but its nothing to worry about. Once its gone, its gone :smiley:

Mine has done it since day one.  Tried everything to remedy it, except pollen filter.  This is number 2 on my "most annoying things about my car" list.  I came out of work at 11pm one day last week, and the inside of the windscreen was just as frosty as the outside.  Took 10 minutes for the heating to get up to temperature enough to defrost it.

My climate system is totally 5hit compared to my 4-Mo mk4. No discernible difference between hot and 16c, cold is only cool. It’s going in for warranty work, it’s rubbish, probably needs a recharge. Never really worked properly.

Should be Ice Station Zebra, not humid amazon rain forest. rant over!

I don't know about the Mk5 but the Mk4 a/c with Climate won't run if the outside temp is below 4 degrees C so in theory is wouldn't matter if it was on or off. (Assuming the temp is below that if your having to deice the windscreen)

You may well be right, but I find that it does make a big difference in the rain.

I thought this problem was down to faulty seals on all early golfs? i enquired at my local dealer he said they do have a recall issue for some faulty seals creating condensation inside steaming up the windows.

mines out of warrenty so nothing i can, will try that ranx fog stuff see if that works
