Thanks so far to all. Not too bothered about shelling out for the fuel if the drive is worth it. My old Mk2 did not do much better than a R32 would, depending on how much I booted it. Being honest cause you so would boot it when necessary. I went from my 1.8 16v which pulled like a monster to a small 5 door family car, I have no family so am still living in sorrow. Have found a good R32 and may be willing to break the bank for it much like I did for my old pride and joy. I just love VW.

yeah you will certainly turn heads in an r32, wow ive got a semi just thinking of owning one, its my

dream car and one day i will have to own one. but only the mk4 version i dont like the mk5 version it looks

too bland.

they do say that the mpg on them isnt too bad, if i bought one i would buy a bi-turbo kit for it, 600bhp

I spent a bt of time earlier looking at them on Autotrader, and getting insurance quotes.

Go compare?  Go f*ck yourself more like!  £1,300 fully comp on an R32?  MY 1.8T is only £625, and it's hardly slow.

its not the speed that makes them high insurance, because to be honest there not that fast, they weigh 1500kg so they are hardly light, my 1.8t is running at 200bhp and that keeps up with them.

Its the risk factor, they are very wanted, and very known cars

& the mk5 is a quicker/better drive, too.

INS. is probably higher on the mk4 as it's more prone to theft.
