did you disconnect the battery before removing the brake sensor?

That shouldn't make any difference - Besides, that would cause the brake pad warning light to illuminate, not the 'STOP' check brakes message to come on the display.

i stand corrected    was just a thought - you know how finicky our electrical systems can be

problem sorted it was the brake fluid bottle top must have had air in the pipe pushed the ball up and down and it ok now
