Alloys
« on: 13 January 2009, 14:56 »
So if you read my welcome topic you will hopefully geuss that i know nothing about styling! Which is why i came here in the first place! Im looking for a new set of alloys for my 2000reg 1.6SE Golf.

Now, How do i go about determining the size of alloys? 15" 16" 17"? does it depend on the tyre size?

If im going for new alloys should i also look to invest in new tyres as well?

Pls dont laugh aha! im tring to learn  Any help would be awesome! Just a point in the right direction would be cool!  Thankyou!!!

Get some 17" or 18" :afro:

14inch alloys you got then.
Recommendations as to which alloys to buy, or to what size to go for?? size wise anything form 16" 17" 18"  just remember the bigger the wheel the more pricey the rubber's going to be, and maybe a slight hit on mpg.

rimstyle.com

ebay.co.uk

Search 'alloys wheels' on google.

You'll need a PCD or 5 x100 and would suggest getting 17's or 18's. Be prepared to lower your car after aswell.

Excellent, thanks a lot. So whilst looking at the alloys it says they come with tyres as optional and are listed as 215/45/17 Would they be right?

There was a thread on this a few days ago. Try searching mate. As I said you may want to lower your car aswell.
