I was looking to see about getting a new steering wheel for a mk2 gti, i dont mind the mk3 ones but I would really love to get a steering wheel with the fake suade material such as
Does anyone know of any steering wheels that have a simular material to this that would actually fit a mk2, or know if any places that can re-trim a steering wheel with this material.

I can re-trim you a steering wheel.. I do alot, for other trimmers too as not many people like doing them! Here are some I've done recently.

They look really good Joe!
Two questions... Are you able to get the leather really nice and tight, or is it a bit loose/soft after a re-trim? Also, over time, would the leather get tighter, or looser?

yeah you get it very tight, as tight as any wheel out there. Over time it should be exactly the same as any other wheel. Steering wheels are all done the same way using similar leather to what i use so in theory any wheel should last as long as one from the factory as they are all done using the same methods. aftermarket wheels ie momo, tend to be glued together with stitching for detail rather than as a function, this is why they can churn them out for £100-ish and a factory wheel is like 3 or 4 times that as they are all hand stitched together, which is more time consuming.
