Whirling noise ?
« on: 18 June 2004, 12:29 »
I got this kinda whirling noise that is definitely coming from behind the speedo/rpm clocks. The noise kicks in when i get up to 50mph, the faster i go the faster it whirls.
I may be saving petrol by keeping my speed down, but my ears are about to start bleeding.

Please help if you know wtf this dam noise is, thanks n peace !

.....i had a nightmare the other night, i dreamed i had to take the dash off my car !!

I had the same probably. came in around 60 or 70 for me. I was going to change the speedo cable, but just lived with it until my engine swap and I got new clocks. speedo cables aren't hard to change and fairly cheap.

mind did that occasionally. when i looked into it i found that the cable had come loose. So i re-attached it but also sprayed a bit of oil on the miechanism inside which seemed so solve the problem. not sure how long it lasted for cost i changed the clocks shortly after that so i could see how fast i was going passed 120!  ::)
