If you have a look, the OP said he climbs over to the passanger side, it wouldn't ding then.

I thought it'd sound when you open the drivers door, which bobo didn't do.

Why don't you reverse it in? After three mishaps*, I've learnt how to park.

* scraped wing mirror, scraped driver + passenger door (£500 respray), lightly scraped bumper (awaiting respray). Now I can perfectly without issue!

doesn't matter if you open the drivers door or not, is it not supposed to ding when u take the key out of the ignition whilst the light switch is on via manual setting??

bit silly if it only dings when u open the drivers door, as this case has proved!

if it dinged as soon as he took the key out it may have saved him all the hassle!

think i'll go check mine to confirm.

EDIT: Just checked, and it doesn't ding at all with key out of ignition and drivers door open! wierd...feature must be switched off. Or it doesn't have one!!!!

I'm pretty sure my headlights still switch off automatically after about 1 minute, even if they are in manual mode.

Sidelights may be different though

Looking foward to seeing your parking skills at the pod if you make it!

You havent done any damage to the boot yet stealth!!,

The damage is there, to the paintwork and sometimes the clearcoat only. It's minor, barely noticeablee unless the car's sparklingly clean. With most of the muck on the car, you'd never notice it! It's on the the offside corner. Was reversing very slowly (like one mile per year type of speed) and was distracted, didn't realise the car was edging backwards. No 'clunk' or any noise. No denting. Strictly superficial.

No one noticed it at the telford meet!

EDIT: Parking sensors ruin the look of the car IMO. Saving up for RNS-510 + camera (hopefully boot-badge-cam by then!), though by the time I've saved up, my parking skills will have been perfect lol!
