Headlamp glass face missing
« on: 07 January 2009, 18:49 »
Fux!

On my way home tonight, I realise the drivers side beam is not right at all so I get out and have a look around the car and the entire area of the car park... nawt.

Is the glass part just glued to the rest of the headlight unit? at least the beam pattern didn't upset any other road users! (no flashes and didn't get pulled by the rozzers I passed!!!)

Oh I also noticed the first attempt at starting my car it was like the battery was dead, but 2nd time it came on no probs, would the glass being off effect the battery charge? Should I take the bulb out over night?

this happened to me but the glass was on the floor of the car park un-broken so a quick fix with some superglue and its stayed ever since!

I stripped, cleaned mine out and then put a bead of no more nails around the outside before pressing the glass back into place

Your lucky, Mine was not in the works car park or my parking space at home

Musta come off on the way in.

So do I need to disconnect my bulb to stop the battery from getting drained overnight?

Oh I also HAVE do use my car tomorrow because my mates car is going in for MOT... otherwise we got no way to get into work

missing glass is not going to affect you battery in anyway.       if you driveing in the rain with headlights on the bulb will more than likely fail tho
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Poor stating is probably due to the cold weather, nothing to do with headlamp bulb,,, new lamp units are around £17ish from GSF and are genuine Hella brand, check your other lamp asap, they tend to go in pairs

Heheh, the glass on one of my T25s fell out during an off-road event - I managed to find that one whole
