People have been saying that the RN510 should come down in price a good bit after the release of the mk6, since it's being introduced as an option across the mk6 range like it is in the new Sirocco. I know that doesn't help much, but if you want an RNS again it could be worth waiting a while.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

My mate has a nice JVC one, can't remember the model but will find out. i was very impressed for what he paid (~£600) - Is a pretty new model with HDD sat nav, SD card etc - sent him a message and will post when I get a reply.

Personally I want an in car PC with decent quality audio but struggling to find a unit to do that so may go for a std alpine HU with a flip out screen next to it. :)

tbh honest if your paying as much as £600 for a new unit I would just pay the extra £150 and get the RNS510. It suits the dash much better and looks like its meant to be there as opposed to most after market units.

Was looking through the MK6 price list yesterday and its still the same price... so demand will be greater once the new models hit the street so I cant see the price coming down until a newer model is released :nerd:

Actually spent quite a while looking through the price list and noticed that the climate control can now also be controlled through the HU, and has a nice split display which looks like it comes up when your making any changes

If you can still get hold of them the Kenwood DNX7200 is a good unit. I believe the new equivalent is a DNX8220.

I've had the 7200 for about 18months and don't regret getting it. It is powered by Garmin for the Satnav and is very user friendly.

yeah i would also say the rns is the best unit to go for but they are still like over 800quid on ebay..

i dont really use the satnav but its a good bonus.

the kenwood is nice hurdy but im not to keen on screens that flip, ive heard rumours about kenwoods sticking after awhile

Emeye jvc are a good make, ill look in to some of them.. id love an alpine but they two are expensive.

ill keep my eye on ebay, its worth buying a good system as i always have the music/radio on and being able to plav dvds and the use of satnav is very handy nowadays.

Had a quick reply from my mate he seems to think it was 7000 something or other - the interesting feature i meant to mention was that the whole fascia comes off!!!
