Lowering question

is it necessary to buy new top mounts for lowered suspension or to people do it just for precaution

Think its more a case of while its all off you might as well do them. Dont have to but you'll have everything apart and for the sake of 20 quid or so it makes sense.

so wat i will need is from what it says on the gsf site strut top mounting and will the G60 one fit a 1.3, rear upper and lower top mount and rear top spring plate. am i missing any thing

G60 top mounts will fit all mk2s.
Probably best off going for OEM ones though, heard some bad reports about other ones :(

Lol, looking at the description, they are either grub screwed to your existing struts (not an option I would choose) or you have to weld the tubes to your existing strut (the normal way its done with kits like this but I doubt it in this case as they say the tubes are ali).

All the kits ive seen like this have to have the spring perches cut off your existing dampers and the tubes welded onto the strut body, maybe these are a tad easier but I wouldnt use grub screws direct to the damper body (I wouldnt weld it to it either but then lol). Its not too bad if your using damper inserts instead of sealed struts but i wouldnt touch these with a long, long stick. You also dont have a clue how stiff the springs are (a problem im having with FK coilovers at the mo). Be carefull with this one, its not as straightforward as they are making out lol.
