« on: 05 January 2009, 21:40 »
I am really wanting to fit a DTM style (upswept dual pipe) back box to my MK2 gti 1.8 16v which although are hard to find nowadays i have managed, however i am not a mechanic and wont pretend to be one so need some expert advice pls!!
Basically i need to know what the pipe is that runs between the middle box and back box as this is not supplied with the back box and what diameter pipe i need it to be, will i need to get it specialy made etc (and maybe where i can get one??) .. the dimensions of the back box i want are as follows ..

Size:
Inlet Diameter 57 mm
Body Length 356 mm
Body Width 203 mm
Body Height 127 mm
Outlet Width 85 mm
Outlet Height 80 mm
Outlet Length 190 mm

Is this going to be possible?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers and happy new year to all

Philly

If I recall, the pipe O/D is 50mm, so you will need a reducer. But please, don't fit that horrible back box! They look awfull. There so many boxes available that will do the car justice without that thing!
Look at the exhaust on my car in my sig at the bottom of this reply. Looks so much nicer. (In my opinion)
