RNS510 mp3s
« on: 03 January 2009, 14:13 »
Just spent ages burning loads of music onto a DVD so I could copy them onto my RNS510. Only to find it wouldnt read the disk for some reason.

Anyone have any ideas why this would happen?? Im pretty sure they were all in the mp3 format :undecided:

Is there something I am missing?? I take you can use folders?

I had a similar problem when i first tried to burn audio to dvd, then transfer to the RNS.  In the end, i realised the format was not mp3.  Are you using iTunes by any chance, to burn on to DVD?  Cos that's what I used and i was initially under the impression that it burns to mp3 by default, but that's not the case.  I had to change the settings in iTunes.

I burnt as data in iTunes and it worked a treat. But yes all tracks need to be on the top level, not in folders and also mp3, not AAC!

Not sure about them all being at the top level.. how would you go about sorting them on the HD??

Wil I have to manually create the folders then copy each individual track across??

Im thinking this is going to take alot longer than I originally thought :undecided:

Just go to setting in itunes and choose to import songs as mp3 (i think its in advanced?)

Then highlight and right click the songs you want and convert to mp3!

No mate, you can upload in album or even artist format in one go. Takes about 1-2 mins per 20 tracks i've found, but can be quicker depending on album..
