Front wipers

I am in desperate need of some new front wipers as mine just smear dirt everywhere. Poped into Halfrauds yesterday afternoon and bought the ones that where for a Golf 05+ but found them to be the wrong ones. Took them back along with one of my original ones to ask if someone could get me the right ones, myself and a Halfrauds chap searched high and low but could not find the same ones as the ones I have on now. He suggested the dealers which will be last point of call as the Halfrauds is a stones throw away from house and the dealers well, isnt lol. Only thing we could come with is the because mine is a GTI it has different set to a normal Golf which I find hard to believe.

Has anyone bought new wipers from anywhere other than VW and if so whats the wiper number? (e.g the ones I bought yesterday where "SET 108")

I believe Golf MKV's have the newer frameless wipers and I've yet to see them on sale outside the VW dealerships.

A set of Audi A3 2003 onwards should also fit.

halfords sell aero wipers, i had to get some for the Bora, they do Bosch and halfords own brand

I don't mean the ones with spoilers, I think they call the frameless 1's fitted to the mk5 aerowipers or somethin

I've also brought wipers from ebay supposedly for any Mk5 from 04 on. They needed a wiper arm with the standard hook end rather than a pin. Ended up doing to the dealers but they weren't too expensive.

yeah thats what i am on about, the Bora had the frameless type wipers

I bought a set from my local motor factors which turned out to be the wrong fitment despite saying Golf V on the box. They swapped them for the Bosch ones in the link above which were spot on. See if your Halfords sell these.
