Lumpy as Fu*k - Please Please Help

Folks

I am now at my wits end, I have a 1995 8v GTI that when at idle the car is running so lumpy the whole car vibrates I have changed and cleaned the following:

Throtle boady cleaned
Fuel filter changed
Plugs changed
Air filter changed
Breather hoses changed
Injector cleaner currently being ran through

There seems to be rasp off the exhaust at the back of the engine but my local Kwik Fit could not find any leaks in the system.

I don't know what else to try and eliminate this problem.

The lumpyness only starts a few seconds after stopping to idle - would the idle control valve need cleaned??

The car has only done 79K :'( :'(

Does it begin to run smoothly after it's been running for a while?

The car feels smoth all when driving, the roughness is only after a few seconds of sitting at idle either hot or cold.
