Newbie to Golf!
« on: 26 December 2008, 19:50 »
Hi all,

Merry Christmas break and hope you all had a fantastic time.
I'm looking at an A reg Golf GTi 8V,

Is there anything I should look out for?

Cheers

It's an A reg 8v with 96000m, Been told to be wary of gearboxes, are these strong or should i replace it as a matter of course?

If the gearbox is showing no problems i would maybe change the oil and forget about it.

A slipping clutch=new clutch? If so, how easy/difficult is this to do? Or could it be a knackered clutch cable?
