I think you can get the RNS 500 (right number?) headunit with the R32. If so, go for it! It's a fantastic piece of kit . A few people here have them and say they are brilliant. I wish I had one . The normal MFD 2 sat nav isn't as good. You need to keep the sat nav cd in it for the sat nav to work, and it won't play dvds. The RNS on the other hand does a huge range of stuff. Make sure you check out which headunit it is!

Hi,

I thought the latest Sat Nav unit was the RNS510? I'm sure an owner whoi has this can answer that question.

The Recaros, yes they are nice, but in a 3 door they may in pratical as of getting in and out of the back, also the backs of the seats are gloss black plastic and get scratched/marked easily. They are heated by the way.

I had a demo 5 door GTI for 2 weeks that had them fitted and after getting used to the high front lip of the seat thought they were comfy especially on a spirited run across country, althoughly I'm only a small 5.6 (32in waist :lipsrsealed:)

Try and get a demo first as you may not get on with them...

HTH...

Cheers Wayne

Two possible types in the R32 -

Older MFD2 or newer RNS510.

RNS510 is excellent, google will tell you the full specs.

The RNS 510 is a lovely head unit, looks the business, great having the SD card and the hard drive for music.

Copied CD's are a bit twitchy in the DVD player, some I have are unwatchable, although you never really sit in the car and watch the DVD anyhow.

The Satnav is nowhere near as good as TomTom. It always seems to avoid the smaller C class roads, even if you choose to go the shortest route. Unless you have the version 3 disc you cannot input postcodes.

Saying that I wouldn't be without mine.

I think recaro seats look a bit boy racery (i know racery is not a word but never mind), prefer my standard seats, but I have an Edition 30 so anything but the tartan wouldn't be right.
