To return to topic....

Congrats on getting the APR LaserBlue. It will get louder as you put more miles on it - mine definitely did.

You planning on getting the cat and downpipe at a later stage also?

Hahaha!

My ears have taken a battering over the years from constantly being around loud racing cars, being in a couple of bands, and nightclubs! As a result I have mild tinnitus, so I try to take care of them as much as possible really! Especially as yesterday we were standing right behind the exhaust - 6 feet away - whilst it was at full chat!

Yeah it is pretty loud isn't it! Love ittttttttttttt!!!

Can only get the APR is one version - the RSC. Inside the car it is a lot quieter than from the outside. I tend to drive with the windows open most of the time, because that's when you get to hear the nice rasp when you floor it!

thanks, well i purchased it from awesomegti they had it on the grey gti for 5months..
i drove to work last night and im very impressed at the drone noise at around motorway speeds you cant even hear it but when you accelerate it gets louder in 6th.

i dont think i will be getting the apr downpipe as im guessing it will be to loud, the guy who fitted it said its a good standard downpipe as it is but an upgrade is always better

heres a quick photo, will try making a video later on..

Is it one of the new RSC versions, or is it an older APR stealth cat back?

Was down at jkm this morning collecting my old pipes to take home. she said you might be coming down , but by the looks of it you didnt go down cus they shut at 12 noon!.

Nope, I decided to go in my Mk2 16v because I decided that I shouldn't really dump the exhaust in the R32 and then tried to insure the valver before I set off.  I got a ridiculous quote from HIC of £700 and then £1000 on a classic policy.  I've never paid more than £350 a year on a car like this.   I've always used them and the guy on the other end couldn't understand why the quotes were so high either.  Then I thought, sod it, I'll get into the R32 and tried to wind the front passenger Recaro all the way back and couldn't - unlike the standard seats - so it would have been impossible to put the exhaust in it anyway.  By this time it was 9:30am and I wouldn't have reached until about 12:00-12:30 assuming no traffic -  - so I rang Kate and told her that I wouldn't be able to make it and ordered the non-res Milltek section for fitting next week -  .  I am sending the damaged BBS CH to A1 in Wolverhampton and putting Hurdy's Pescaras on the Ed30 for now so I can take it down to JKM next week.  Already missing that turbo power and sublime razor sharp handling...     This modding thing really is addictive asI'm looking for Milltek manifold and exhaust for the 16v which I would never have considered before - and I haven't even go the money yet, until after Feb... but its not stoppping me drawing up a wish list. I've got to cut down my visits to this forum before I bankrupt myself
