Anyone who has a Forge DV please . .
« on: 22 December 2008, 11:13 »
Got my car remaped (fun :D) last week and now have a shiney Forge DV sitting in my boot. I need access to a car lift or ramps which I dont have and tbh I dont really know what Im doing with it so called my local VW specialist who phoned VW to ask how long it would take. He has said VW would charge 2 hours work, this place with therefore charge me 2 hours labour @ £45 an hour :(

Does it really take this long? I have been looking through the instructions and I cant see how it would take this long. Has anyone here fitted it themselves or how long did it take someone who knew what they where doing to fit?

I see your from Croydon.

Go to tuningwerkes on Hailing Road, South Croydon. They fitted mine, im sure they will be cheaper than a VW dealer??

they didnt charge me fitting, but then again I did order a load of stuff from them!

Actually yeah I was gunna say... £45 per hour seemed cheap for a VW dealer!

Yeah speak to Rueben, he's really really helpful. And if his prices are too high, im sure he will tell you how to fit it. If you want to, mention that Chris with the vinyl'd white GTI recommended you to him.

You don't really need ramps, you can do it from underneath.  I've done several with just a trolly jack and an axle stand for safety backup.
