worst day of my life
« on: 14 June 2004, 13:36 »
 Hi all

Thought I would say hello again since I haven't been on the site for a few months. I was in the back seat of my m8's mk2 golf when he decided to crash into a concrete wall separating the m6 junction 6 from the A38 by Birmingham. We apparently hit it at 60 MPH and totally wrote the car off. It took them 2 hours to cut me out of it as the front passenger seat had pinned me to the back of the seat I was sitting in. Well after spending over a month in hospital and a month convalescing at home I asked my wife to bring me the computer down so I could say hello and see what's been happening in the world of golfgti. I certainly have a lot of reading to do.

i remember hearing about this on the local news (if its the same accident)
From the pictures i saw i'd say you're lucky to be alive, and its so sad that not all in the car were as fortunate  :-\

Best wishes on the road to recovery mate

Chris.

Thanks for all your comments. Tim was a very good friend of mine and will be missed by everone who new him. He died instantly from what the police have said so he didn't suffer. The drive Martin actually got out of the car himself when they cut the roof off and left hospital after only a few days. I was very lucky to live. No one at the crash site thought I would make it. Apparently I went through over twenty units of blood in the first day alone. But I'm fine now and should hopefully be out of my wheel chair by sometime next month. I don't think there is anything left of the car worth having especially when the police have finished all of there checks. I am hoping to go to Santa pod as one of my m8's is racing there but I will have to see as at the moment I can only sit up for about 2 hours max but if I do come I would love to see you all.
