no pedal

my hand brake mecanism in the calipers are worn and not meeting mot syandards on rollers. but when i fit new callipers i lose my pedal. then if i fit old calipers again i get a pedal back. can anyone help?

what calipers are you fitting? and have you blead them properly?

they are delphi lockheads. ive tried gravity bleeding them and pressure bleeding them.

not being funny here, but there are two types. you might have yours on upside down, try swapping the new ones around.

Try turning the caliper so the nipple is at the top Because air gets trapped above the nipple worked for me anyway

i fitted them the same way as the old ones which work when i put them back on. i will try them the other way though.

Sounds like an air lock, do you get any feel at all with the new calipers? Spongey or nothing at all?

yeah i seem to remember people retro fitting mk3 calipers and having the same problem. they look the same so you would assume they go on the same but as they are off a later model and a later design they actually fit the opposite way round.

yeh it does seem like an air lock. i get a pedal if i pump it but then drops to floor after about a minute

when you was getting the air lock was you using a pressure bleeder?
