Unless you're talking abou tthe current astra which looks sooooo much beter in 5 door than 3 door.

Nope, wrong again ! The 3 door Astra looks a million times better. 3 door is always going to appear much more curvier than its 5 door sibling.

I'm a 3-door whore, but I have to say that the Astra 5-door version does look better than a 5-door one... but its all relative as they both look shyte compared to the Golf

I am married now, no kids yet, but I have already warned my wife that I am keeping my 3 door R32 if/when kids arrive. She has already understood she will be getting the 5 door one. End of. I thought it was very considerate of me.....

Nope, I've got the same solution as Synnea. I'm keeping my 3-door Ed30 and getting a 5-door R32 for her

Illyun - now thats the perfect compromise  I like it.

It was only last night I was on auto-trader website. Bless her, she mentioned to me about a new 5 door car to replace her Micra. She said she wanted a 5 door blue Mazda 2.....What about a 5 door GTI love? was my prompt reply....

Well, wont need it for a while but maybe late next year after the MKVI is out I reckon there will be nice 5 door MKV GTI example to be had for a decent price!

5 door looks much better on the GTI in my opinion.  I had the choice of 3 or 5 door and chose 5 door as I think the 3 door looks unfinished.

I think it is down to personal opinion at the end of the day
