yea the resale value on those corsa's and saxo's etc are crap..

in the local paper today was a V reg VTS for ?4495

LOL

We just sold a R reg 8v mk3 gti, admittadly it isent the fastest car on the block, but would rather have a slower quality vw then some light weight citroen rubbish.

Out of interest, got ?4800 for the golf, girl next door couldent sell her R reg laguna for ?1700, just says it all really.

Yes private,
This one had only done 47k miles, and had lots of end of the line things fitted, air conditioning, rear headrests, bbs solitudes, and a strange shade of purple colour and totally standard. It was a minter. Great car, never let us down.

I would,

people love low mileage, standard golf's. Had about three people ring up, first bloke that came snapped it up/

I think alot depends on where u live in UK as well.

VW offered ?3800 trade in price on the mk3, but decided to sell private.

Bodhi is talking out of his arse yet again!  ;)
There are far more cars that the vr6 will piss on rather than the other way round.

Audi RS4 - 0-60 in 4.9 secs
Audi RS6 - 0-60 in 4.7 secs

So Audi aren't really performance cars.
Quattro handling badly? comparing the handling with the mk3 golf?
Thats about as bollox as it gets.
Oh course you DON'T ACTUALLY OWN a fast car now do you?
go back to your slow mk3 8v and carry on dreaming about owning a BMW  :D

I seem to have hit a nerve.  I never said the VR6 wasn't a performance car, I simply said it wasn't really a hot hatch.

Yes, a ?15K hot hatch can clearly outhandle a ?40K + sports saloon, that's why people pay the extra for an S4. I never said the Mk3 Golf could outhandle the S4, but an Impreza/Evo/M3 probably could. That's probably why evo's recent car of the decade was bristling with S4's. Oh wait it wasn't. And not just to take evo's word for it, the Autocar I was reading last night branded the RS4 a "dissapointment".

In the grand performance car scheme of things, Audi's really aren't very good. Slight hint before you repeat various RS performance stats - fast is more than in a straight line.

INTERESTING CONTENT BODHI, BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO THROW INSULTS THEN I WILL JUST REMOVE ALL YOUR POSTS.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN THATS TOO BAD  :)

1997 Tornado Red GTi 8v - The Fastest HotBox on Fife's roads.

Modifications -

1 x Kenwood KDC-7024M
1 x Dull Aluminium Golf Ball Gearknob. Clearly worth about 10bhp on its own.
